How to Be a
Good Online Learner

9. What do I do if I need help?

We all need help at times in our lives.  This especially applies to new learning situations.

Who to Call for Help

If you are having difficulty with the technical side of the course (you can't remember how to login, have trouble opening a document, find a broken link, etc.) then you need to contact Richard Sebastian.  He is the Online Enrollment Specialist.  It is his job to make sure that you have the technical help to learn online.  So, if you call, no need to worry that you are bothering him or making his life difficult.  He wants to hear from you, trust me.

To contact Richard Sebastian, call him at 1-877-376-9433.  You may also email him (he checks it all the time) at rasebastian@vcu.edu

If you have any questions regarding the material of your lessons, you will need to contact your mentor.  This person will vary depending on which mentor you were assigned.  Please check the course information that you received from the Online Enrollment Specialist to see who is your assigned mentor.  If you can't find it then again, please feel free to call Richard Sebastian to get that information.

Self-Advocacy

Just a little word here about self-advocacy. It is of vital importance in an online environment that you speak up for yourself.  If you are having difficulty with any part of the course, let your mentor or Richard Sebastian know.  We are here to help you and enjoy helping someone learn their way around the online world.
