From Intake to Achievement
From Intake to Achievement is the new one-stop shop for training to effectively manage students' progress from entering your program until they accomplish their goals and exit. You will find all of our non-facilitated, self-paced courses housed within From Intake to Achievement on Blackboard.
Please note that each training contained within From Intake to Achievement is listed as a separate course in ERO. You must register for any and all of the trainings which you wish to complete while enrolled in the From Intake to Achievement course on Blackboard.
At this time we cannot process registrations for any From Intake to Achievement trainings for programs outside of those funded through the Office of Adult Education and Literacy or their recognized partnering agencies.
TABE Certification Training, Forms 9 & 10, Online Initial
Are you new to adult education? Or are you a person who has worked with adults in an educational capacity for some time? Either way, the TABE Certification Training Online provide you with the skills, knowledge, and ability to place adults into the appropriate instructional level. Also, in order to administer the TABE Assessments, you must be certified (Assessment and Reporting Policies for Adult Education and Literacy Programs, Part 4, 4.2, May 2003) according to state policy.
This certification training is offered to you by The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center and CTB/McGraw-Hill.
The format for the certification training is self-paced, non-facilitated, and asynchronous. You should allow yourself approximately one hour for completion of training requirements.
All DCE employees are to register for this training only.
TABE Certification Training, Forms 9 & 10, Online Refresher
The TABE Certification Training, Forms 9 & 10, Online Refresher will update you on the skills, knowledge, and ability to place adults into the appropriate instructional level. Goal-Setting Policy Training, Online Initial
This training is offered to you by Virginia Department of Education's Office of Adult Education and Literacy through The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center. This training serves as the VDOE approved training required of all staff working with adult learners in Virginia adult education programs.
New staff at local programs must successfully complete the VDOE approved goal-setting policy training prior to working with learners on goal-setting. Continuing staff must re-certify on the goal-setting policy every two years by completing an online refresher training.
The format for the training is self-paced, non-facilitated, and asynchronous. You should allow yourself approximately two hours for completion of this training.
Goal-Setting Policy Training, Online Refresher
This training is offered to you by Virginia Department of Education's Office of Adult Education and Literacy through The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center. This training serves as the VDOE approved training refresher of all staff working with adult learners in Virginia adult education programs.
Continuing staff must re-certify on the goal-setting policy every two years by completing this online refresher training.
The format for the training is self-paced, non-facilitated, and asynchronous. You should allow yourself approximately 30 minutes for completion of this training. You do not have to complete the training all at once, however. You may stop at any time and return to the training at your convenience.
Virginia Adult ESOL Content Standards Online Training
Do you want to learn how to effectively integrate the Virginia Adult ESOL Content Standards into your instruction? If you plan to attend any face-to-face trainings about how to use the content standards, you must complete the short online introduction before attending. The course is self-paced and is designed to be completed in approximately two hours.
The training consists of two parts. The first part is applicable to teachers of both GED and ESOL. The second part is broken into an ESOL track and a GED track. If your program will be using both sets of content standards, you are welcome to complete both tracks; however, you will need to register in ERO for both tracks.
You will need to have a copy of the content standards available to you in order to complete this training. If you don't have a hard copy, you can download the content standards in this training.
