The Virginia Adult Educator Certification Program for Program Managers (April 3, 2009)

Did you or your staff administrators miss the first session of the Virginia Adult Educator Certification Program for Program Managers in November? Now is your chance to catch up and get ready for Session Two which starts this summer at Southwest VAILL!

The Virginia Adult Educator Certification Program for Program Managers
Level 1, Session 1

April 28 - 29, 2009
Richmond, VA

This introductory session, "Managing Adult Education Programs: Administration," will focus on the following topics:

  • Funding from OAEL: types, sources, and cycles
  • OAEL oversight of adult education programs
  • Understanding WIA Title II
  • Importance of grant-writing skills
  • Data collection, submission, and analysis
  • Data-based decision-making
  • Effective staffing
  • Professional development for all staff
  • Advisory and governing boards

Join staff from the Resource Center and the OAEL for these two days of training:

April 28, 2009, 1:00 - 6:00 pm (snack provided)
April 29, 2009, 8:30 am - 2:00 pm (light breakfast and lunch provided)
