VAESOL-Chat: Virginia ESOL Chat
What is VAESOL-Chat?
VA-ESOL-Chat is an electronic mailing list for teachers of adult ESOL. Members will discuss issues related to this field. It is maintained by the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center. The listserv software resides on a server at VCU. This computer receives and disseminates messages by e-mail to all those subscribed to the list. Subscribers may send messages to everyone on the list and will receive all messages sent to the list.
How Do I Subscribe?
In order to subscribe to VAESOL-Chat you must have a computer that has an e-mail program. (If you need basic information about how to get e-mail, you may call the Resource Center at (800) 237-0178, or call Stephen Grainer toll free at (800)-237-0178.
To subscribe, you can fill in the form below with your information and click the Subscribe button:
You may also subscribe by sending an email to listserv@lists.vcu.edu with the following in the body of the e-mail: subscribe VAESOL-CHAT "first name" "last name"
When you send this message, the Listserv computer will read the information from your message and subscribe you to the mailing list. Within 24 hours you should receive a welcome message from the Listserv and from VAESOL-CHAT. Read these instructions carefully and then print them out for future reference. They will give you information on how to post messages to the list and how to unsubscribe should you wish to do so.
How Would I Use It?
Adult ESOL Educators are encouraged to subscribe to VAESOL-CHAT to keep abreast of current issues in ESOL education. Subscribers may use the list to ask questions or to share information with other subscribers on the list.
