GED and You

Learning Project: "The GED and You"

  • "The GED and You" is the first Learning Project in GED as Project. It is made up of three Inquiry Activities:

  • Exploring the GED in General: Learners look at the test from their personal perspectives, learning about the test and examining their reasons for wanting to pass the GED.

  • Exploring Reading, Study and Test-taking Habits: Learners reflect on their habits so they can strengthen, modify and develop new skills.

  • Developing an Individual Action Plan: Learners will take the information from the first two Inquiry Activities and develop a plan for their personal use.

This is the opportunity for students to begin working through the inquiry process as set in the General Template.

Revisiting the Action Plan

As the learners progress through The GED as Project, they will wish to update and modify their original Individual Action Plans. In addition, each of the content areas has an Inquiry Activity that asks the learners to reconsider their Action Plans in light of their experiences.

"The GED and You Revisited" is an informal assessment that allows the learners to measure their greater understanding of the skills and knowledge they are acquiring. The Sample Inquiry Activity builds on "The GED and You" activities, as well as more content-specific introductory activities in each GED subject area.
