Podcasts are audio (or, sometimes, video) files that can be listened to from a mobile device, such as an MP3 player, iPod, or many cell phones. You can also listen to podcasts on a regular laptop or desktop computer with speakers. Podcasts are typically short, informative episodes, and their portable nature means they can be accessed inside or outside of a classroom.

NOTE: The .mp3 file can be played on a variety of audio players including Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player is a software program that comes free on most PCs. For more information about podcasts, file types, or technical issues, please contact Katie Bratisax at kbratisax@vcu.edu.
