  USCIS offers a free Civics and Citizenship Toolkit to community organizations that assist immigrants aspiring to become U.S. citizens. The toolkit provides educational materials that focus on both naturalization and civics. For a list of eligible organizations and to register for a Toolkit, visit www.citizenshiptoolkit.gov/Registration/. Interested individuals or organizations that do not qualify to receive a free toolkit may purchase a copy from the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) Online Bookstore. For additional citizenship information and educational materials, be sure to visit the Citizenship Resource Center.

• Fairfax Family Literacy Curriculum
  The Fairfax County Family Literacy Curriculum is designed to be used in a multi-level adult ESOL family literacy class. There are four modules to choose from: Introductory (Self, Family and Community), Government (Schools and Community), Health (Medicine and Stress), and Consumerism (Shopping and Making a Budget).

  The site has free, printable handouts, worksheets, and lessons, plus an ever-growing bank of easy, useful games and activities for the ESL classroom. This site is updated frequently. The site includes a section on Adult ESL, Grammar, Idioms, Dialogues, Games, Vocabulary, and Writing.
• Teaching Reading to Adult English Language Learners (Adobe PDF)
  This 15-hour training will acquaint participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to teach reading effectively to adult, nonnative speakers of English.
• Lesson Plans for Crossroads Café Video Series (Adobe PDF) by Ruth Duncan
  These lesson plans support and expand the instructional content of the 26 episodes of the Crossroads Café Video Series. Each half-hour-long video provides intermediate or higher ESL students with practice in the four language skills. The lessons include communicative classroom activities and exercises.
