Richard Sebastian is currently the Project Manager for eLEARN Virginia, a new distance learning program for adult Virginians interested in online GED and employment preparation. Richard serves as the initial contact for both new students and adult education program contacts, and also coordinates and supervises eLEARN Va's online mentors. Richard joined the Resource Center in November of 2005 as the online enrollment coordinator for the Electronic Food Stamps Employment & Training project (eFSET-VA) . In this capacity he interviewed and enrolled qualified FSET clients and managed the technical and administrative elements of the program, including the project database, website, online instructional modules, and discussion forum for online mentors.
Richard is currently a doctoral student at the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education. His research is focused on investigating the learning potential of weblogs in adult education. He is also a local filmmaker and musician. Prior to joining the Resource Center, Richard worked as an instructor at Henrico County Jail East, Henrico County Adult Education, and Philip Morris’ Employee Development Center.
