As the Online Training Specialist for the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center, it is my responsibility to work with the other specialists to implement the online training components of their programs. As the Learning Disabilities Specialist, it is my task to help adult literacy educators throughout the state best serve the adult learning disabled population throughout the state.

This is my first position in adult education. I began my career as an elementary school teacher and later moved to middle school education. I first taught second grade in Charles City Elementary. From there, I moved to Colonial Heights Middle School and taught eighth grade civics and economics, sixth grade reading, sixth grade uplift resource, and seventh grade English.

I graduated in 2004 from the University of Phoenix Online with a master of arts in education specializing in adult education and distance learning. I also received a masters of teaching and a bachelors of arts degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1997. It feels good to return to my alma mater to contribute back to them.

I am a resident of Colonial Heights where I reside with my three cats: Nosey Parker, Turtle, and Miss Marple. My hobbies include reading, cooking/baking, and traveling.
