As Training Coordination Specialist, in collaboration with the other VALRC Specialists, I am responsible for coordinating all training except online courses and overseeing the logistics of the certification process. In addition, I am responsible for developing the training calendar, analyzing training evaluation data, and assuring that VALRC provides training on topics and in locations that maximizes access, quality, and efficiency. Along with these responsibilities, I also manage the Support Staff strand of the Virginia Adult Educator Certification Program. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the Certification Program, upcoming trainings, or scheduling a specific training in your area.
I began my career in Adult Education in 1995 when I went to South Korea to teach adult ESL classes. I returned to the US permanently in 2004 to teach GED classes for the VA Dept. of Correctional Education at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women. In the midst of my Korean experience, I earned a M.Ed. in Adult Education from VCU. When I need to get away from the Adult Ed environment, I can be found either in the woods on my bicycle or at the racetrack with my car.
